Overview

Pelbliss is a wed-tech marketplace where couples in Nigeria discover verified wedding vendors, from photographers and caterers to makeup and gele artists, by category and city. Each vendor gets a branded store with their work, services and starting prices. Couples also get free planning tools: a guest list, digital invites, RSVPs and their own wedding website. We designed and built the platform, the vendor dashboard and the admin portal that runs it.

The challenge

Planning a Nigerian wedding usually starts in Instagram DMs. A couple scrolls hashtags, messages ten vendors, waits for replies, and hopes the photos they saw were really that vendor's work.

Trust was the biggest gap. Couples had no easy way to tell a reliable vendor from someone reposting other people's photos.

Prices were hidden. "DM for price" meant hours of back and forth just to find out if a vendor was in budget.

Great vendors stayed invisible. Talented gele artists, caterers and makeup artists outside the big names relied on word of mouth and their follower count.

Planning lived in too many places. Guest lists on paper or Excel, invitations as WhatsApp flyers that anyone could forward to gate crashers.

Marketplaces felt expensive to vendors. Commission-heavy platforms put small vendors off listing at all.

Pelbliss wanted one trusted home for Nigerian weddings: verified vendors for couples, real visibility for vendors, and simple planning tools in between.

Our approach

1. We built search the way couples actually plan. Couples pick a category and a city, like wedding photographers in Lagos or bridal hairstylists in Abuja, and see matching vendors with starting prices right on the card.

2. We gave every vendor a store that answers questions upfront. Each vendor hub shows a gallery of real jobs, an optional video reel, services with starting prices, payment and refund policy, FAQs, testimonials and social links. Most of the DM back and forth disappears before the first message.

3. We made trust part of the product. Every vendor profile goes through verification, with photo and contact checks, before it goes live, and vendors can add their CAC registration number. Couples can leave reviews after their event.

4. We kept it vendor friendly. Vendors list with zero commission. Couples connect with vendors on Pelbliss and pay them directly, so vendors keep 100% of their earnings. Their dashboard brings messages, bookings and analytics into one place, and Pelbliss can feature top vendors in promotions.

5. We turned it into a planning hub, not just a directory. Couples save favourite vendors, build their guest list in the guest hub, send digital invites, track RSVPs and launch a free wedding website to share their story.

6. We built it to be found. Vendor pages follow a clean city and category URL structure, and a built in articles section publishes wedding planning guides, so Pelbliss ranks for the searches couples make. The admin portal runs verification, featured vendors, categories, locations and content.

The outcome

Pelbliss is live at pelbliss.com, with vendors across Lagos, Abuja, Oyo and Rivers in categories from photography and catering to cakes, decor and gele.

Couples plan with confidence. Verified vendors, visible starting prices and real portfolios replace guesswork in the DMs.

Vendors get discovered beyond their followers. Smaller vendors now appear next to bigger names in the categories and cities couples search.

Planning in one place. Vendor search, guest lists, invites, RSVPs and a wedding website all sit under one account.

A growth engine built in. SEO-ready vendor pages and an articles section bring couples in from search, not just ads.

Room to expand. The category and location model can extend from weddings into other events.
